Photo Retakes

Dave, Tuntun and John’s Thoughts:
Let's start with what a photo retake is. A photo retake is when someone gets a photo taken of them and they want to change it. They go to a place where you change the way the person looks. The photographers will say how much it will cost to fix you up. If they say that your really expensive it’s like there saying that you have a really ugly face. That means that you have lots of problems on your face!! This place is called a photoshop. Sometimes when people take photo retakes they don't even ask permission to photoshop them. This is bad for three reasons:
- It’s bad because people take school pictures to remember how they were and how they looked so if the pictures are changed it’s not a memory.
- It’s bad because nobody has any right to change the way you look and the photo retakers have no right to say how good you look.
- Since every feature of your face makes up who you are, then if they take away one small feature of your face then that person in the photoshopped picture is not really you.
Example:
If there was a boy with messy hair (like Tuntun before he cut it) and it happens to be picture day in school. The photographer takes the boys photo and said that he will have to pay 6 dollars to make him look better in the photo.
Tuntun thinks: This is the photographer’s way of saying the boy looks bad.
The problem is that nobody (except your parents) has any right to say you look bad.
John thinks: Some people want to be unique. Why would any photographer want you to look like everyone else; nice hair, no pimples or any face marks. The thing is, that you look like everyone else and as a result no one is unique.
